Most of the houses we relight around South Auckland were built when lighting meant one pendant in the middle of each room. Swap that fitting for an LED and you get the same bad lighting, more cheaply. Getting a genuinely better result usually means changing where the light comes from, not just what is in the fitting.
We do LED upgrades, full relights, downlight installation and new lighting layouts across South Auckland and Franklin — from a single room through to a whole house during a renovation.
If you are renovating or building, the lighting layout is worth settling before the linings go on. We work from the plans and set out fitting types, positions and numbers room by room, along with the switching — which is the part people notice daily and rarely think about in advance.
On an existing house it is more constrained but far from impossible. Older ceilings around Papakura, Manurewa and Otara often have limited access and insulation that has to be worked around; downlights in particular need the right fittings and clearances rather than the cheapest ones. That is a code question as much as a lighting one.

Mood Lighting
Dimming and warmer colour temperatures make a living room feel like somewhere you want to sit. It is the single most common request we get after a relight, and it is much easier to build in at the start than to retrofit — not every LED fitting dims cleanly, and mismatching dimmer and driver is what causes the flicker and buzz people complain about.
Task Lighting
Task lighting provides illumination in a given room to complete a specific activity – in a study or kitchen. When you’re doing heavy chores that demand focus, dim, inconsistent, or poor lighting can be annoying. It can also harm or strain your eyes if you’re in the room for long periods.
