Data Cabling South Auckland

Data Cabling, South Auckland & Franklin

Wi-Fi is fine until it is not. Once a house has people working from home, a TV streaming, cameras uploading and a couple of teenagers on it, the wireless network is usually the bottleneck — and no amount of moving the router fixes a signal that has to get through three block walls.

Cabled data solves it properly. We run Cat6 to the rooms that need it, terminate it into a patch panel in a sensible place, and put the access points where the coverage actually needs to be rather than where the fibre happened to land.

We install Cat5e and Cat6 outlets, structured cabling and patch panels, wireless access point layouts, and phone and PABX systems — in homes, and across commercial sites through South Auckland.

Rural Franklin is where this earns its keep most. On a lifestyle block at Waiuku, Clarks Beach or Patumahoe the house, the shed and the sleepout can be a hundred metres apart, which is past what Wi-Fi will do reliably and past the 90-metre limit for a single copper run. That is a fibre or point-to-point question, and it is worth answering before you dig the trench rather than after.

If you are building or renovating, cabling is cheap while the walls are open and expensive once they are closed. Worth doing at the same time as the electrical rough-in.
